She tilted her head up to the ceiling when the sirens finally stopped. Sweet silence… Wait. Something was wrong. Reagan's body stiffened as her ears searched for a sound they couldn't have possibly heard. A… gasp? The Summer air was replaced with an icy cold chill that danced along her spine. She made slow movements. Her head turned to the small living room and scanned the area, focusing on the shadowed corners, searching for the danger her body insisted was nearby. Wide eyes moved from the couch, coffee table, TV, and curtains to the entrance. Reagan relaxed. Nothing was out of place, not even the deadbolt on the front door. That was when an unsettling wave of realization hit. The porch!
California Boating Laws Owners and operators of boats in California are required to follow state and federal laws when it comes to the maintenance and operation of their vessels. Similar to car drivers, boat operators are prohibited from driving in a reckless or negligent manner, which may endanger others. Operators must not drive near or through areas designated for swimmers, surfers or body boarders. All California boat operators must have an adequate number of life jackets and fire extinguishers onboard. They also must display navigation lights, fix fuel leaks and ensure that there is proper ventilation. It is also vital for all boat operators to remain completely sober. Impaired driving is a particularly common cause of boating accidents. Many boat operators make the mistake of thinking they are allowed to drive drunk because they are on the water. This is a tragic error that leads to many fatalities each year. If You Have Been Injured If you or a loved one has been harmed in a watercraft accident, it may be possible for you to seek compensation for your injuries, damages and losses.

I'm a year out from finishing my BA so my major is set in stone at this point. I've been looking at OCS for a while, in particular for CWO, but all the suggested majors for it on the Navy's website are really technical, like compsci or engineering. Which, sure, I've taken one or two courses but nothing intensive. Not really my forte. I figured at first that since linguists are part of the cryptologic technician team that it'd be a good fit for me but now I'm not so sure. I have a competitive GPA but linguistics isn't exactly a competitive major. I'm also totally open to suggestions if anyone knows of an officer program that would match a linguistics major better. Been considering the Navy since high school and I'd like to do something useful with my degree.
A thick carpet or towels will do in a pinch. Hand weights Depending on your current strength, start with sets of weights as low as 2 pounds and 5 pounds, or 5 pounds and 8 pounds. Add heavier weights as needed. Dumbbells with padded center bars and D-shaped weights are easy to hold. Weighted bands that strap onto wrists and kits that let you screw weights onto a central bar are available, too. Weights are a good place to save cash by checking sports resale stores. Resistance bands and tubing Resistance bands or tubing can be used for a full-body strength workout. Attractive features include low cost, light weight, portability, and ease of storage. As with weights, you can measure how challenging the resistance is by how many repetitions of an exercise you can do: if less than eight, resistance is too high; if more than 12, it is too low. Positioning your hands or feet closer together or farther apart on the band or tube before starting an exercise helps vary resistance. Try different positions to learn which make repetitions easier or harder.
